First, what are focal points.
This is really kind of basic and others may interrupt this differently...
Focal points are picking out an area or spot on a bowling lane and shooting at that spot as your target…
This is usually but not always farther down the lane...
Some centers that have Brunswick Pro-Anvilane synthetic lane surface which will have what is called range finders down lane…
These range finders can be used as focal points…
There are 2 set of these range finders 1 set at the 10th board and the other at the 15th board…

How to Use Focal Points
Now that we know what is ment by focal points we can now learn how to use them…
These points are basically used in a few different methods…
One being the breakpoint theory..
You would adjust your angle and line up from a spot at the dots or arrows to the focal point or at breakpoint down lane…
Now you can use a range finder that we talked about earlier for this…
An example would be aim across the 15th board at the arrows out to the first range finder at the 10th board…
In this theory, if the range finder is your break point that focal point would never change but, the target up front at the arrows or dots would…
You would then move inside or outside depending on how the conditions break down…
You can do this theory without the range finder..
You simply just have to use your mental imagery after you find out where your breakpoint is…
Then line up from there…
